Abstract
MÉTODOS E SISTEMAS DE INTERROGAÇÃO DE NÊUTRONS EM TEMPO DE VOO PARA DISCRIMINAÇÃO DE MATERIAL.A presente invenção fornece um sistema de inspeção de nêutrons com base em tempo de voo. O sistema emprega um feixe colimado de nêutrons rápidos para a interrogação alvejada de áreas suspeitas em carga. A composição elementar é determinada como uma função de profundidade. A análise é então usada para determinar a presença de contrabando. O sistema pode ser usado para inspeção secundária para discriminação de material para reduzir a taxa de alarme falso e alto custo e tempo associados ao desempacotamento manual.
