DISPOSITIVO AUTOMÃTICO E MÃTODO PARA MEDIR A ESPESSURA DE UMA ESCÃRIA, E, MÃQUINA DE FUNDIÃÃO.Este dispositivo (10), destinado a medir a espessura de uma escória (3) sobre a superfÃcie de um metal lÃquido (4) contido em um molde de lingote (2), compreende: - um fio (13) confeccionado de material condutivo eletricamente e capaz de ser eliminado sob o efeito do calor da temperatura da escória, o fio (13) compreendendo uma extremidade livre (14) destinada a ser mergulhada na escória (3), - meios para alimentar o fio (13) capazes de deslocar o fio (13), de modo que sua extremidade livre (14) mergulhe verticalmente na escória (3) de acordo com uma trajetória predeterminada, - meios de medição capazes de medir uma distância percorrida pela extremidade livre (14) do fio (13) durante um intervalo de tempo entre dois eventos predeterminados quando o último é deslocado sob a ação dos meios de alimentação, - meios para controlar ditos meios de alimentação, os meios de controle (4).
