The cells in the compositions maintain their identity and functional characteristics after being stored in non-nutrititive media up to about 72 hours. The storage method enables the cells to be manufactured at a processing facility and shipped to a point of care site. A presente invenção inclui métodos para a manipulação de composições de células vivas em tampão não nutritivo. As células nas composições mantêm a sua identidade e características funcionais após serem armazenadas em meios não nutritivos até cerca de 72 horas. O método de armazenagem permite que as células sejam fabricadas em uma instalação de processamento e enviadas até um ponto de atendimento local.
