A presente invenção descreve que upregulating EXPA1 expressão do gene ou a atividade do polipeptídeo EXPA1, ou a co-expressão do gene GhEXPA1 GhRDL1 e pode melhorar as características da planta. Estes métodos têm aplicações em culturas de flores.
