Abstract
POLINUCLEOTÍDEO ISOLADO, POLIPEPTÍDEO MUTANTE, CONSTRUCTO RECOMBINANTE, CÉLULA TRANSFORMADA, MÉTODO PARA PRODUÇÃO DE UM ÁCIDO GRAXO POLI-INSATURADO, ÓLEO MICROBIANO E CÉLULA HOSPEDEIRA MICROBIANA RECOMBINANTE. As delta-9 elongases mutantes que têm a capacidade de converter ácido linoleico (18:2,LA) em ácido eicosadienoico (20:2 EDA) e/ou -linolenico (18:3, ALA) EM ÁCIDO EICOSATRIENOICO (20:3, ETrA) são divulgadas no presente pedido. Também são divulgados fragmentos de ácidos nucleicos isolados e constructos recombinantes que compreendem esses fragmentos que codificam delta-9 elongases nutantes junto com um método de fabricação de ácido graxos poli-insaturados de cadeia longa "PUFAs") com o uso dessas delta-9 mutantes em levedura oleaginosa.
