INSERTO DE CORTE, E, FRESA. Um inserto de corte (10) tem uma aresta de corte (54,56) formada na interseção de uma superfície lateral (14) e uma superfície extrema (12). Recessos (52) formados na superfície lateral (14) interrompem a aresta de corte em porções de arestas de cortes recuadas (54). Cada porção aresta de corte recuada (54) tem uma vista extrema do inserto de corte e uma seção central encurvada, localizada entre duas seções laterais encurvadas. A seção central tem um primeiro raio de curvatura e cada seção lateral tem um segundo raio de curvatura, o primeiro raio de curvatura sendo maior do que o segundo raio de curvatura.
