A presente invenção refere-se aos métodos, kits e composições combinadas usando complexos de DFO-metal, especificamente, complexos de Zinco-desferrioxamina (Zn-DFO), gálio-desferrioxamina (Ga-DFO) e quaisquer combinações dos mesmos para prevenir, tratar, melhorar ou inibir uma desordem relacionada ao sistema imunológico, especificamente, uma desordem inflamatória relacionada à pele como psoríase, uma condição respiratória inflamatória como asma, e uma doença autoimune como diabetes e qualquer desordem relacionada ao sistema imunológico.
