O movimento da ferramenta permite que o colar seja contraÃdo de modo apertado em encaixe no tubo ou em outro membro tubular. Um centralizador de arco tem arcos alternados deslocados longitudinalmente para reduzir a força de inserção inicial. O centralizador pode ser formado para ter bandas de extremidade do tipo utilizado no colar de retenção.
