COMPOSTO INIBIDOR DE BETA-SECRETASE 1 PARA O TRATAMENTO DA DOENÇA DE ALZHEIMER.A presente invenção se refere a um composto derivado da psamaplina A com atividade inibidora da enzima beta-secretase 1, e seu uso no tratamento da Doença de Alzheimer. A psamaplina A teve a sua estrutura otimizada, de forma a melhorar o seu posicionamento no sítio ativo da enzima e aumentar a energia de ligação com aminoácidos essenciais para a atividade, o que caracteriza a inibição enzimática. A otimização também considerou a obtenção de parâmetros físico-químicos apropriados para um medicamento, no que diz respeito à farmacocinética e toxicidade. Desta forma, esse novo composto inibe uma enzima chave para o desenvolvimento da Doença de Alzheimer, sendo uma alterativa a essa doença sem cura até o momento.
