Abstract
A presente invenção descreve o processo de preparação de materiais cerâmicos para absorção de gases ácidos, principalmente o dióxido de carbono, em sistemas de exaustão e/ou que presente em ambientes fechados. Os materiais cerâmicos são formados por uma mistura de carbonato alcalino com óxido/hidróxido de metal alcalino terroso associado a um componente aglomerante, mas não limitante. O carbonato alcalino compreende a carbonato de sódio, potássio, ou uma mistura de ambos. O óxido/hidróxido de metal alcalino terroso pode ser formado por oxido de magnésio ou hidróxido de magnésio assim como óxido de cálcio e/ou hidróxido de cálcio.
