Abstract
RESUMOPatente de Invenção: "CRY1D PARA CONTROLE DA LAGARTA-DA-ESPIGA-DO-MILHO". A presente invenção refere-se em parte à surpreendente descoberta de que Cry1Da é ativa contra a lagarta-da-espiga-do-milho (CEW), Helicoverpa zea (Boddie). Encontram-se descritos métodos para uso de Cry1Da em plantas transgênicas para prevenir danos sérios à cultura. Bioensaios de folhas e barba de milho usando milho transgênico expressando a região de toxina de núcleo de comprimento integral ou Cry1Da quimérica demonstraram proteção satisfatória de insetos contra danos causados por larvas de CEW.
