Os compostos antimicrobianos voláteis proporcionados incluem certos compostos de oxaborol, por exemplo, benzoxaboróis. Sistemas de administração são proporcionados para tirar vantagem da natureza volátil desses compostos antimicrobianos. Também combinações com um regulador de crescimento de plantas volátil, por exemplo, 1-metilciclopropeno, são descritas
