Mark description
The mark consists of a three-dimensional configuration of a bottle. The bottle is designed with debossed lines running parallel and horizontal in the upper shoulder-body, and debossed cut glass lines running diagonally around the main body of the bottle. There is also a small pattern of interlocking flat raised spaces around the base of the neck of the bottle. An oval space in the upper shoulder-body of the face of the bottle contains an ornate border of side-by-side semi-circular shapes all around the interior edge of the oval. Centered at the top of the inside of the oval are symmetrical, curved lines and swirls. Centered underneath those lines is EST'D 1880, followed by the large, bold JAMES E. PEPPER. Centered underneath those words and in a smaller font are the words KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON, with the word WHISKEY centered underneath them. On either side of the word WHISKEY are several more old-fashioned, curved lines and swirls. Under those lines, and running along the inside of the ornate oval border, are the even smaller words DISTILLED AT THE HISTORIC JAMES E. PEPPER DISTILLERY, LEXINGTON, KY. The broken lines depicting the top of the bottle and the sides of the top, as well as straight lines on the sides of the bottle and the bottle bottom indicate placement of the mark on the goods and are not part of the mark.
