Mark description

The mark consists of two concentric circles, and the inner one contains a diamond shaped badge with rounded corners. Inside the badge design is the wording RESERVE in all capital letters, curved slightly downward on each end, and contained within a banner with scrolls on each end. Above this wording is the stylized design of several buildings. Below this wording is the horizontal numbering 1947 contained in a rectangle-like carrier with stylized leaves surrounding the sides and bottom of the carrier. Under this numbering is the wording LOS ANGELES contained within a wavy banner. Below this is a bold outlined circle containing a pale virtually imperceptible image in a downward pointing 5 sided shape and containing two vertical pillars with vertical flag like patterns, followed horizontally by a star and a bear, all above an eagle biting a serpent, a castle and a standing lion figure with a crown.. Under the circle is the word POLICE enclosed in a banner which is arched downward in the center. The diamond shaped badge is surrounded by a shaded center of the inner most concentric circle. Between the two outer concentric circles is the wording LOS ANGELES POLICE RESERVE FOUNDATION which appears in the top half of the space between the concentric circles. The wording at the bottom of these circles is ADJUVE VONLUTARI. Between the top and bottom wording are two limbs with leaves, one on either side of the concentric circles.
