Mark description

The mark consists of a circle with a thick white band around the circumference of the circle; narrower bands of navy blue border the white band on both the outer and inner edge; inside the circle formed by the three bands is a stylized drawing of a forested mountain scene at sunrise, consisting of (from bottom to top, or foreground to background) silhouetted evergreen trees in navy blue, silhouetted trees in blue-gray, silhouetted mountains layered in darker, then lighter, shades of blue-gray; the top 30% of the circle is sky in light red-orange fading to a darker red-orange toward the top of the mark; a 3-dimensional cross in navy blue and blue-gray is superimposed over the upper-left quadrant of the mark and extends slightly beyond the white band described above; the words "A MISSION OF CARSON-NEWMAN UNIVERSITY" appear in navy blue block capital letters in the bottom-center of the white band, with "CARSON-NEWMAN UNIVERSITY" in bold-face; the words "Appalachian Ministries" appear in large, stylized white letters with navy blue outline just below the center of the circle with "OF THE SMOKIES" just beneath in smaller, stylized white block capital letters with navy blue outline.
