Mark description

The mark consists of vertical rectangle with crosshatched background decorated with grape leaves, grape cluster, and simple flowers. Each corner is decorated with a feather. The rectangle is vertically bisected with a strip with a striped border and flower decorations. Overlayed in the middle is another rectangle with a decorative dotted, striped, and line drawing border. The next layer is comprised of a circle with a decorative border of laurel leaf with flower decoration and geometric line drawings.At the top of the decorative boarder is the wording "JACOBUS DE WET".At the bottom of the circle is a decorative circle with a dotted and stripped border with a simple flower drawing in the middle.Within the circle is the wording "THE EXCELSIOR" and "SOUTH AFRICA".At the top of the circle is a cross hatched shield consisting of a crown and a horse with a banner wrapped around the horses neck and held in its mouth. The banner reads "ANNO 1859 DE WET FAMILY". The final layer of design consists of a rectangle with a striped border on top and bottom which reads "COMEBACK KING". The "C" character of "COMEBACK" is a decorative depiction.
