Mark description

The mark consists of a stylized compass design consisting of light blue and dark blue points at the north, south, east, and west points of the compass. The body of the compass is a circle with a white background surrounded by a gray border. The circle contains rings of concentric circles, beginning with a gold ring that forms an inner white circle, followed by a thicker dark blue ring, a light blue ring, and then another gold ring. Within the inner white circle appears a design consisting of a fist in the center of an open book with a tree above and roots below. The fist is in dark blue with white stylization. The tree and roots are in dark blue; the tree has white leaves that are outlined in dark blue. The book design has light blue and dark blue pages with white stylization. The wording "HBCU LEGACY" and "OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON US" appears in white in the dark blue ring of the circle design, and is separated by five-point gold stars near the east and west points of the compass. Other than as previously described, the color white represents background and is not claimed as a feature of the mark.
