Mark description

The mark consists of a black circle with a gray border encircling the outside, with a smaller gray border encircling a red Maltese cross bordered entirely in yellow. Red banners with black borders appear above and below the black circle. Inside the top red banner appear the dates "1867-2017" in white letters, and inside the bottom red banner appear the words "150 YEARS OF SERVICE", with "150" being written in yellow and "YEARS OF SERVICE" being written in white. The word "VANCOUVER" appears in white between the gray borders at the top of the black circle, and the words "FIRE DEPARTMENT" appear in white between the gray borders at the bottom of the black circle. The top arm of the Maltese cross has the letters "EST" in black with a white border; the right arm of the Maltese cross has a black EMS Star of Life with a red Rod of Asclepius in the middle; the bottom arm of the Maltese cross has the numbers "1867" in black with a white border; and the left arm of the Maltese cross has a black pike hook and ladder, the center of the Maltese cross has a chevron design in black within a black circle.
