Mark description

The mark consists of the word "AMERICAN" in capital letters over the words "HEALTH PLANS" in smaller capital letters, with a symbol to the left of "AMERICAN" comprising three thin, wavy pennants of equal length separated by narrow spaces, each pennant oriented horizontally and narrowing to a point on the left, one pennant located over the 'H' in "HEALTH", above which and shifted slightly to the right is another pennant over which and shifted slightly further right is the third pennant, the right end of each of the bottom two pennants curving upward to join with the right end of the one above it, and the right end of the top pennant curving slightly upward to a point, such that a thin, empty space is created between the symbol and the left leg of the "A" in "American", the space tilting slightly to the right and roughly parallel with the left leg of the "A".
