Mark description

The mark consists of two stylized police badges with the right badge overlapping the left badge. The left badge has the image of a bird's head and wings on top, and has the words "SAN DIEGO", "POLICE", "OFFICERS", and "ASSOCIATION" each on one of four ribbons going across the badge. There is a circular seal in the center of the left badge with the words "THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO STATE OF CALIFORNIA SEMPER VIGILANS" written in the form of a circle; there is a small shaded circle between the words "THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO" and "STATE OF CALIFORNIA". Inside the circular seal is the image of shield with a boat, a horizontal bar, and a shaded circle inside the shield; on either side of this inner shield is a building with a flag; above the shield is a polygon shape with the image of a bell inside it. Outside of the circular seal, but inside of the left badge, are three flowers. The left badge also has stripes throughout in alternating shades that start from the center seal and emanate out diagonally. There are arrow like figures that surround the border of the left badge. The right badge consists of the words "SDPOA" in vertical form on the left side of the badge and a human figure holding a torch and a sword at the center of the badge; the torch appears to have light rays emanating from it, and the right badge itself appears to have flames coming out of it at its bottom right. The right badge border is an outline of the badge. Below the right badge is the wording "EST. 1912".
