Mark description

The mark consists of a blue circle with a thin dark blue border. The center element of the mark is a green torch with yellow and orange flames in front of a globe which is outlined in white. The globe is positioned so that Hawaii lies to the immediate right of the flames, and has light blue water and green continents. Surrounding the globe are 5 yellow stars curved above, and a garland of green laurel leaves on both sides. Directly below the torch is a black eagle outlined in white with its head facing left and wings spread. On the chest of the eagle is a shield containing 13 vertical, alternating red and white stripes and a solid horizontal blue stripe across the top of the shield. Within the eagle's claws are 3 black arrows outlined in white, pointed to the left. Encircling the inner design of the mark are the words "Center for Excellence", all in caps and in white, curved around the upper, inner edge of the circle, and the words "in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assistance", in sentence case and in white, curved around the inner, bottom edge. A fleur-de-lis appears before and after the wording "Center for Excellence".
