Mark description

The mark consists of a three-dimensional configuration of a green bottle seen from multiple angles. Around the cap and upper neck of the bottle is a red label with the word "JAMESON" in gold script. Below that, also around the neck of the bottle, is a green collarette label. On the front of the bottle, on the green label is a cream colored vertical strip with cream and green borders and bearing three parallel vertical columns defined by vertical gold lines; the words "TRIPLE DISTILLED BY JOHN JAMESON & SON" in black appear vertically in the left column, the number "JQ-058548" in black is in the center, and the words "BOW STREET DISTILLERY, DUBLIN, IRELAND "in black are in the right column; at the bottom of the strip is a red seal with green and gold borders. Around the edge of the seal is the wording "JOHN JAMESON & SON LIMITED" in cream, and inside are the letters "J","J","&","S" in cream inside a cream circle. On the front of the bottle also is a four-sided label with straight bottom and sides and a rounded top edge. At the top of the label are green, gold, white and cream borders. Below that is the word "JAMESON" in large black capital letters with a gold outline that makes the letters appear to be three-dimensional. The letters are arranged in the shape of an arch. Underneath that is a red shield with a gold and black outline. The top edge of the shield extends out in points to the left and right, and the bottom edge of the shield comes to a point in the center. The shield is crossed diagonally by two gold and red bands. Overlapping the upper quadrant of the shield is a triple-masted sail boat in gold with black outlines. In the left and right quadrants formed by the diagonal bands is a gold anchor on each side. In the bottom quadrant is a gold and black star. Under the shield is a gold and red ribbon or banner outlined in black with the words "SINE METU" in black. This shield design with ribbon bearing the words "SINE METU" is hereinafter referred to as the "Shield and Ribbon Design." To the left of the shield is the wording "ESTABLISHED" in black script, and to the right of the shield is the wording SINCE 1780 in black script. Below the shield and ribbon are the words "TRIPLE DISTILLED" and "IRISH WHISKEY" in black script. The background of this entire section of the label is cream colored. Below that, along the bottom of the label, are a narrow gold border, a wide green stripe, and a narrow light green border. At the bottom left of the label, a red seal with gold and green borders overlaps the wide green stripe. On the red seal are the words "J","J","&","S" JOHN JAMESON & SON LIMITED" in cream colored letters. To the right of the seal is the signature "JOHN JAMESON & SON" in gold script. Below the label, embossed in the green glass of the bottle are the words "PRODUCT OF IRELAND" and, on either side of the wording facing inward, the figure of a man carrying a barrel on his back. On the back of the bottle, the red label with the "JAMESON" signature in gold is visible; below that, on the green collarette label is the red, gold and black Shield and Ribbon design. Below that, on the "shoulder" of the bottle are embossed the words "SINCE 1780" in script in the green glass of the bottle. Below that is a rectangular cream-colored label with green, gold and white borders that is taller than it is wide. At the top of the label is the black colored wording "JAMESON" in an arch shape with black shading to the right of the lettering that makes it appear to be three-dimensional; below that is the wording "IRISH WHISKEY" in black. Below that in black is the wording "JOHN JAMESON FOUNDED HIS DISTILLERY IN DUBLIN IN 1780 TO REALIZE HIS AMBITION OF MAKING THE HIGHEST QUALITY WHISKEY. TODAY JAMESON IS STILL MADE IN A SINGLE DISTILLERY USING RICH POT STILL WHISKEY FROM MALTED AND UNMALTED BARLEY AND THE FINEST GRAIN WHISKEY, BOTH DISTILLED 3 TIMES FOR SMOOTHNESS". At the bottom of the label is the domain address "jamesonwhiskey.com" in black. Below this label is the script signature "JOHN JAMESON & SON" embossed in the green bottle glass. On the bottom of the bottle at the center all embossed on the green glass are the letters "J","J","&","S" in a circle; around these letters are the following letters, numbers and wording: "70cl E 66mm Q2: 1729A JOHN JAMESON & SON LTD." The broken lines depicting the outline of the bottle and the top of the bottle, as well as the notch on the back bottom of the bottle, indicate placement of the mark on the goods and are not part of the mark.
