Mark description

The mark consists of a rectangle with stylized ivory scrollwork borders on a red ground, with more elaborate ivory scrollwork designs outlined in red at the four corners, and delicate red flowers and vines inside the border at the two sides and the top. Inside the border at the top is a curling ivory ribbon or banner outlined in red and with red shading, bearing the words "VIOLET FRERES" in red lettering. Below that in large red lettering is the word "BYRRH"; the letters forming this word have a thin red outline to the right that makes the letters appear three-dimensional. Below that, at the center of the rectangle are two lions, back to back, outlined and shaded in red, on a rectangular ivory mat that is also outlined and shaded in red. Between the two lions' tails is a design of delicate red scrolled vines. Below that is the ornately stylized wording "VIOLET FRERES" in red, and below that another design of delicate red scrolled vines in red. The entire background of the rectangle inside the red and ivory border is ivory.
