Mark description

The mark consists of two elements arranged vertically. The upper element consists of a shield-shaped label that is wider than it is high. It is very slightly rounded across the top edge and curves down on either side to a point at the bottom of the label. Across the top edge of the shield are two borders which follow the entire outline of the shield down to the bottom point. The outer border is black and the inner border is gold. At the top left and right corners of the inner border of the shield a third border begins, very narrow at the top, and widening as it follows the outer edge and the two outer borders down the sides of the shield. It also comes to a point at the bottom of the label. This innermost border is green. Of the three borders, the outer black one is the widest, and the inner green one is the narrowest. The background of the shield inside the borders is black. Across the top of the shield in large lettering is the word "POWERS" in white lettering with a partial outline in gold that gives the letters a three-dimensional appearance. The word "POWERS" is curved slightly like the top edge of the shield, so that the beginning and end letters are slightly lower than the "W" and "E" in the middle of the word. Below that, extending nearly the same width across the shield as the word "POWERS" are the words "SINGLE POT STILL IRISH WHISKEY" in much smaller white letters. These words are also shaped into a curve that is slightly higher in the center and lower on the outside edges. Below those words in the center of the shield is the gold letter "P" within a gold diamond. On either side of the gold letter "P" within a gold diamond are two parallel rays, the top ray being slightly longer than the bottom ray, which extend out from and touch the left and right sides of the gold diamond. The rays are gold in color and the top ray extends out to the same width as the words above. The rays are wider on the side that is near the gold diamond and taper to points at their outer edges. Between the parallel rays to the left of the gold diamond is the abbreviation "ESTD" in gold and to the right is the date "1791" in gold. Below that, centered below gold diamond, are the words "SIGNATURE" in medium-sized white lettering with a partial outline in gold that gives the letters a three-dimensional appearance. Below those words is the word "Release" in somewhat gold script. The top of the "R" in "Release" overlaps the "N" in "SIGNATURE" and the top of the "L" in "Release" overlaps the "T" in "SIGNATURE". The lower element consists of a rectangular-shaped label with a thin gold band at the top. This label is on a black background. Below the gold band and centered on this label are the words "SINGLE POT STILL" with "IRISH WHISKEY" centered below it. To the left of the wording "SINGLE POT STILL" and "IRISH WHISKEY" is the wording "ESTD." in gold with a gold band of equal length and width appearing above and below the lower gold band under such wording is the date "1791" in white with a gold band appearing below it. Approximately one-third of the way from the top of this label is a rectangle with a gold border. The background of this rectangle is green with darker green on the left and right sides of this rectangle which fade in to progressively lighter green in the middle. Centered on this background appears an image of three swallows in flight each in dark green. The words "JOHN POWER & SON" in gold script appear below the center and right birds.
