Mark description

The mark consists of a design of three sets of interlocking rings of various sizes superimposed over each other as if being projected at the viewer from the inner-most set of rings. The inner-most set of rings consists of five interlocking rings that are comprised of an inner-band of white with an outer-band of pink and mauve striations; encompassed in the center ring alone is purple, and encompassed in the other rings are purple, light blue, dark blue, white and pink striations. The middle set of rings consists of five interlocking rings that are comprised of an inner band of light blue and dark blue striations, and an outer-band of pink and mauve striations; the center ring of the middle set encompasses light blue and dark blue striations and the majority of the inner-most set of rings; the other rings in the middle set encompass dark blue, light blue, purple, pink and mauve striations as well as parts of the inner-most set of rings. The outer most set of rings consist of one center ring, which is comprised of mauve, purple, and black striations on top and mauve, pink, dark blue, and purple striations on the bottom, and two partial rings to the lower left and right which are comprised of pink, mauve, dark blue and light blue striations on the top, and mauve, purple, and black striations on the bottom; the center ring encompasses dark blue and purple striations as well as the inner-most and middle set of rings; the other outer rings encompass purple and black striations and portions of the middle set of rings. The striations of the outer set of rings fade to purple and black striations on top, and solid black on the bottom. Below the rings is a male runner in profile with brown skin with white highlights, black hair and wearing white with grey shaded clothing including a tank top, shorts, sneakers, and socks, who is carrying a brown torch with a red, orange, white, flame and grey smoke. Centered above the rings at the top is the stylized wording "SEOUL" in white above "1988" in pink above "SEP.17-OCT.2" in pink. In the bottom right corner of the rectangle are white stylized Korean characters on either side of the white number "24" above the words "JEUX DE LA XXIVEME OPYMPIADE" in white above "GAMES OF THE XXIVTH OLYMPIAD" in white. To the right of the wording is a stylized swirl design consisting of three white curved lines outlined in black above five white interlocking rings.
