The mark consists of of the words "MoNtReuX" above "JAzz FestivAl" in slanted, hand-written stylization that slopes to the upper right with the letters comprising a large bold capital "M" with an ink-drip design from the legs of "M" and an extra line from the upper left corner, a bold lower-case "o", a capital "N" with right leg extending higher than the left leg, a lower-case "t" that is elongated and with a bar extending above a capital "R", next to a cursive, lower-case "eu", next to a large capital "X"; under the "N" is a capital "J" with a pronounced curl on the tail, and open stem, and an upward slanting bar, a capital "A", and two lower-case cursive "z"'s with pronounced tail loops that descend below the logo and above a capital "F", which is next to lower case "es", a tall lower case "t" that slants to the right, a lower case "iv" where the dot on the "i" is above the left leg of the "v", a capital "A" and a lower case cursive "l" that extends from the bar of the "A".
