The mark consists of the depiction of a stylized shield surrounded by a circle having wavy lines which is surrounded by the circular wording "SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY NON QUIS SED QUID" with the wording "SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY" at the top of the circle and the wording "NON QUIS SED QUID" at the bottom of the circle. Between the wording "SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY" and "NON QUIS SED QUID" is depiction of two diamonds. The circular wording "SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY NON QUIS SED QUID" is surrounded by two single-line outer circles. There is a stylized building located at the bottom of the shield with the number "18" to the left of the building and number "40" to the right of the building. Above the building is a series of four chevrons above which appears two open books with a five-pointed star between them.
