The mark consists of a circle cut into four sections with a bold red band inside of the circle separating each section. Where the red band meets in the middle is a white circle that has a gold genie lamp in the center. Above the genie lamp are 5 gold diamonds that have small gold circles on each side of the diamonds. The top left section of the circle is orange with a gold image of a telescope that has an outlined gold lightning bolt behind it, and a gold wheel in front. The top right section of the circle is green with a gold image of a snake with it's tongue out and drinking from a gold serving bowl. The bottom left section of the circle is brown with a gold image of a graph that shows trend moving upward. The bottom right section of the circle is navy blue with gold image of the scales of justice. Outside of the circle is a gold trim. Above the gold trim at the top of the circle are the words "OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY" with an interpunct and the year 1871 afterwards. Below the gold trim of the circle are the words "EX DIVERSITATE VIRES". The words above and below the gold trim are in gold on a black background that is encased in gold trim.
