The mark consists of three horizontal sections: a graphic on top that depicts elements of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ("STEM"), the acronym "STEM in the middle, and the word "SYNC" at the bottom flanked by two horizontal lines. The top left denotes a square root symbol with a plus sign beneath the horizontal line of the square root symbol. The top middle contains a DNA double helix capped with the opening of a beaker. Rising from the beaker are bubbles with math symbols inside the bubbles. The first bubble contains a minus sign. The second bubble contains a plus sign. The third bubble contains a division sign. The top right shows the right side of a gear. In the middle, beneath the graphic, is the acronym "STEM" letters using a capital "S", capital "T", capital "E", and capital "M". At the bottom, below the "STEM" acronym, is the word "SYNC" letters using a capital "S", capital "Y", and capital "C". The "N" in "SYNC" is depicted using the symbol of a wire connectors in opposite directions. To the left of the "S" in "SYNC" is a horizontal line. The right of the "C" in "SYNC" is a horizontal line.
