Mark description

The mark consists of a three dimensional configuration of a transparent bottle; an oval label appears with the wording "PLYMOUTH GIN" in white and outlined in copper, with two copper circular seals in a blue concentric circle outlined in copper surrounding a white center which contains a brown ship with one blue and one red flag on the brown ocean, and the wording, "TRADE MARK" in brown, "COATES & CO" in brown, "ORIGINAL" in brown, and "IN 1620 THE MAYFLOWER SET SAIL FROM PLYMOUTH ON A JOURNEY OF HOPE AND DISCOVERY" in black; the bottom of the oval label appears in copper with the wording "BATCH DISTILLED IN THE ORIGINAL VICTORIAN COPPER STILL", "AT BLACKFRIARS DISTILLERY", and "COATES & CO" all in black; the bottle cap appears in copper and includes a blue oval seal with a copper diamond pattern and the wording "THE ORIGINAL STRENGTH ENGLISH GIN" in copper; the bottle includes the transparent wording "EST. 1798" at the top, and the transparent wording "BLACKFRIARS DISTILLERY" and the transparent image of a monk at the bottom; the outside shape of the bottle and lid depicted in broken lines is not a part of the mark and serve only to show placement of the mark. The color gray represents transparent areas and is not part of the mark.
