Esta invenção se refere a polipeptídeos, e ao DNA codificando os mesmos, produzidos pelo parasitas da malária humana. Ela também se refere aos métodos de preparar os polipeptídeos, aos anticorpos para esse fim e composições para uso contra a malária. A proteína engloba a seqüência de amino ácido da Fórmula I ou tem pelo menos 80% de homologia à seqüência de amino ácido da fórmula I.
