A presente invenção refere-se a um processo de preparação do alfa-(tetraidro-4, 5, 6, 7 tieno [3, 2 -c]piridil-5) (cloro-2 fenil) acetato de metila racêmico e de seus enantiômeros, cujo isômero dextrogiro, o clopidogrel, é conhecido por seu interesse em terapêutica, notadamente por suas atividades anti-agregadoras plaquetárias e anti-rombótica.
