A invenção refere-se a fragmento de DNA, caracterizado pelo fato de compreender uma região de promotor do gene codificado para uma proteína derivada de uma levedura metilotrófica e tendo atividade desidrogenase de formato (FMDH), referido gene idêntico ou equivalente ao gene FMDH sendo obtenível a partir de genoma de Hansenula polymorpha, em que o gene FMDH está localizado em um fragmento de 3,5 kb BamHI - HindIII.
