"SORBITOL DESIDROGENASE GLUCONOBACTER SUBOXYDANS, GENES, E MÉTODOS PARA USO DO MESMO". A invenção refere-se aos campos de biologia molecular, bacteriologia e fermentação industrial. Mais especificamente, a invenção proporciona moléculas de ácido nucléico isoladas codificando as três subunidades de um sorbitol desidrogenase Gluconobacter oxydans (SDH) ligado por membrana, novo da invenção e vetores e células hospedeiras contendo referidas moléculas de ácido nucléico isoladas. A invenção adicionalmente, proporciona polipeptídeos isolados para as três subunidades da enzima SDH da invenção, e processos para a produção de L-sorbose e ácido 2-ceto-L-gulônico.
