A invenção divulgada refere-se a novos derivados 3'-N-O, 9-O-oxima protegida, 6-O-alquil eritromicina de fórmula (I) um processo para prepará-los. A invenção também refere-se a um processo de preparar 6-O-alquil eritromicina A pela eliminação do grupo 3'-N-oxido e grupos protetores de 9-O-oxima e, opcionalmente desproteção dos grupos hidróxi nas posições 2' e 4' em condições de reação adequadas.
