A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição de concreto refratário a base de alumina, auto-escoante, isenta de cimento ou qualquer ligante hidráulico ou de pega química. Em outro aspecto a invenção refere-se a um processo para a preparação da referida composição de concreto refratário que compreende uma etapa de ajuste da distribuição granulométrica das matérias-primas de forma a se obter um alto grau de empacotamento de suas partículas.
