Um processo de alvejamento livre de cloro elementar (ECF) para alvejar materiais lignocelulósicos compreendendo uma seqüência de alvejamento de pelo menos três estágios seqüencias, incluindo os citados estágios um estágio de tratamento oxidante, um estágio de extração alcalina, e um estágio de tratamento de alvejamento acidificante usando ozônio.
