"ADITIVOS DE RESISTÊNCIA TEMPORÁRIA A MOLHADO". Trata-se de compostos que compreendem o produto de oxidação de um polissacarídeo, no qual os grupos hidroxila em pelo menos uma parte das unidades de repetição do polissacarídeo são grupos cis-hidroxila, sendo que o produto de oxidação compreende grupos aldeído. Os compostos são utilizáveis para conferir aos produtos de papel, resistência temporária a molhado. Os polissacarídeos preferidos para uso na invenção incluem a goma de guar e a goma de alfarroba.
