Abstract

Patente de Ivenção "PROCESSO PARA REMOVER IMPUREZAS DE UM MATERIAL TITANÍFERO". É divulgado um processo para remover impurezas de um material titanífero que foi sujeito à redução térmica. O processo compreende as etapas de: (i) sujeitar o material titanífero termicamente reduzido a um tratamento térmica secundário para converte-lo a uma forma lixiviável em que as impurezas ali presentes são mais facilmente lixiviáveis; (ii) resfriar o produto da etapa (i), (iii) lixiviar o material titanífero tratatado a quente resfriado em uma solução aquosa ácida que é capaz de dissolver pelo menos uma porção de quaisquer impurezas contidas no material titanífero para formar um lixiviado' e (iv) separar o lixiviado do material titanífero.
