Abstract
As ligas de ouro-paládio contendo elevado teor de ouro para as aplicações dentais não devem conter, por motivos de biocompatibilidade, qualquer ingrediente toxicamente nocivo. Para as ligas de tipo 4 particularmente resistentes à corrosão e biocompatíveis, é necessário o estanho como único ingrediente de metal não nobre, nas quantidades de 0,7 até 5,8% em peso, quando se permanece dentro de limites determinados no diagrama paládio-estanho. Tais ligas contêm, juntamente com ouro e estanho, 6 até 25% em peso de paládio, 0 até 12% em peso de platina e 0 até 2% em peso de irídio, ródio e/ou rutênio.
