A invenção prove oligonucleotídeos híbridos tendo ligações internucleotídeos fosforotioato ou fosforoditioato, e tanto deoxiribonucleosídeos e ribonucleosídeos ou 2'- substituído ribonucleosídeos. Estes oligonucleotídeos híbridos tem superiores propriedades de formação duplex com RNA, resistência a nuclease e ativação de RNase H.
