Abstract
A invenção se refere a um processo de produção, sem usar antimônio, de um poliéster a partir de unidades de tereftalato de polietileno. Após a esterificação, um catalisador misto consistindo em 10 a 75 ppm de lítio e 15 a 80 ppm de germânio é utilizado para a policondensação. O poliéster livre de antimônio assim obtido é adequado para o uso na manufatura de garrafas, folhas, filmes, fibras, filamentos e artigos moldados.
