Abstract
Uma espuma de poliuretano compreendendo uma convolução de passagens conectadas e uma estrutura de superfície porosa, vesicular, tri-dimensional, substancialmente sem uma pele de camada externa, é descrita. Um artigo absorvente é ainda descrito compreendendo um substrato e pelo menos uma única camada de espuma de poliuretano. O processo para produzir a espuma de poliuretano compreende as etapas de: (a) revestir um substrato (12) com uma mistura de reação capaz de reagir para formar uma espuma de poliuretano; (b) imergir o substrato de revestimento (12A) em um banho líquido (16) compreendendo água e um catalisador, durante um período de tempo suficiente para efetuar a reação da mistura de reação; e (c) remover o substrato revestido do banho líquido.
