O presente pedido de patente se refere ao uso de um sintetizador (903) de frequência num radiotelefone (901). O sintetizador (903) é de um tipo N fracionário. O sintetizador utiliza acumuladores (1000) múltiplos travados, dentro de uma rede de acumuladores a fim de desempenhar integrais múltiplas de sinal (215) de entrada. As saídas dos acumuladores são combinadas em série para formar um sinal (229) de dados de saída. O sinal (229) e dados de saída é incluído numa rede (111) divisora, e usado como um divisor variável da entrada (119) de frequência numa rede (111) divisora.
