Abstract
MÃTODO PARA A PRODUÃÃO DE AÃÃCARES SOLÃVEIS A PARTIR DE UM MATERIAL CONTENDO CELULOSE. São fornecidos métodos para a solubilização de celulose em açúcares solúveis sem a necessidade de altas temperaturas, altas pressões, soluções de ácido forte e/ou água adicionada. Os açúcares produzidos podem ser fermentados em etanol. Em uma modalidade, o método compreende contatar um material contendo celulose com um material ácido sólido e agitar o material contendo celulose e o material ácido sólido por um tempo suficiente para produzir uma solução aquosa compreendendo uma quantidade de açúcares solúveis.
