Processo e mecanismo para uso na reciclagem de materiais compostos. Um processo para reciclagem de materiais compostos inclui as etapas de alimentação de uma quantidade do material composto composta de pelo menos um polimero e aluminio em pelo menos um primeiro reator; aquecimento do material composto em um ambiente não oxidante em uma temperatura suficiente para volatilizar pelo menos um polimero e formar um subproduto de hidrocarboneto e alumínio em pelo menos um primeiro reator; alimentação do alumínio livre de pelo menos um polímero em um segundo reator; e aquecimento do alumínio em um ambiente não oxidante em uma temperatura suficiente para derreter o alumínio no segundo reator.
