Um esticador (1) para uma transmissão por correia compreendendo um pivô (2) definindo um eixo (A), um suporte (4) articulado em dito eixo (A) e definindo uma superfície de guia (22) apresentando um perfil preferencialmente circular, um elemento elástico (18) para atuar o dito suporte (4) e uma polia coroa (5) montada em dito suporte (4) ao redor de dita superfície de guia (22) e passível de ser rotacionado ao redor de um segundo eixo (B) excêntrico com relação ao dito eixo (A). O esticador (1) ainda compreende um mancal (4, 28, 31, 32) para suportar a dita polia (5) em dita superfície de guia (22).
