Abstract
METODO PARA RECUPERAR TERRENO CONTAMINADO COM UM MATERIAL COMBUSTÍVEL. A invenção refere-ser a um método e aparelho para recuperar terreno (1O) contaminado por um material combustível (12), em particular, terreno contaminado com líquidos de fase não-aquosa (NAPLs). Em um modo de realização da invenção, um método para recuperar terreno contaminado por um material combustível é revelado, o qual inclui as etapas de localizar um volume subterrâneo (16) de material combustível, como um DNAPL (12) no terreno (10) a ser recuperado, e inflamar o material combustível (12) para queimar o material e, desse modo, recuperar o terreno (10). Pelo monitoramento da combustão do material, a combustão pode ser otimizada, por exemplo, pela supressão de um oxidante ou um supressor de combustão.
