Trata-se de eletrodomésticos à prova d'água alimentados por bateria, por exemplo, eletrodomésticos para cuidados pessoais, como aparelhos de barbear ou depilar e escovas de dentes. Os eletrodomésticos incluem uma carcaça dotada de um lacre configurado para se flexionar em resposta à pressão, permitindo que gases, por exemplo, hidrogênio, sejam expelidos do eletrodoméstico, sem permitir a entrada de água. Descreve-se, também, um eletrodoméstico com dois lacres.
