Abstract
PROCESSOS PARA A PRODUÇÃO DE XILITOL. A presente invenção refere-se a métodos de produção de xilitol compreendendo a descarboxilação oxidativa de um substrato reagente são aqui fornecidos. A descarboxilação oxidativa é realizada em uma de duas maneiras. Na primeira, a descarboxilação oxidativa é realizada por um processo eletroquímico, de preferência, uma descarboxilação oxidativa anódica de um substrato reagente. Na segunda, a descarboxilação oxidativa do substrato reagente é realizada por uma série de reações químicas de oxidação-redução.
